
Eduan is a legal and Investment Banking professional with over 30 years of experience. He has spent more than two decades negotiating transactions and the introduction of new entities into various African jurisdictions and the pursuant transactional close. His focus is on strategic, commercial and legal advice in respect of mergers and acquisitions and, in respect of finance law capacity, both debt and equity. He has advised clients including commercial banks, investment banks, corporates and finance and Private Equity companies. He has been involved whether in an origination, advisory, structuring or exit role – in more than 140 major transactions in emerging markets; with an aggregate deal size of approximately US$ 39billion across 29 countries in Africa (including South Africa) covering all major sectors. He has strong transactional experience, having advised on all types of debt and equity structuring, as well as debt restructuring and/or financial recovery programmes, including workouts involving banking consortia with and without the use of an SPV structure. Eduan is an admitted advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa.
